The American travel magazine, Condé Nast Traveller, has recently unveiled its list of “Must-Visit Destinations” worldwide for 2024, and among them is the coastal city of Da Nang in Vietnam. Da Nang stands as Vietnam’s sole representative in the top destinations in Asia, claiming the second spot on the list after China Town in Bangkok, Thailand. Global travel experts highly praise the beaches in this “city of bridges,” as well as its strategic location near the ancient town of Hoi An and the imperial city of Hue.
The top 11 destinations in Asia for 2024 were voted based on criteria such as new experiences, events, and accommodation options. The participants in the voting process were travel experts from around the world. In addition to providing information about the destinations, the experts had to present compelling reasons why these places are a must-visit.
Other highlighted destinations on the list include the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal, the city of Kobe in Japan, Kochi in India, Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE, the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the Silk Road in Uzbekistan, and the central-southern region of Sri Lanka.
Reflecting on tourism in Asia post-pandemic, the magazine states, “After gradually lifting travel restrictions and border closures due to the pandemic, Asia has bounced back to welcome tourists, brighter, bolder, and more ambitious than ever. This continent aims to remind international travelers of what they might have missed.”
Da Nang stands out as a successful example of post-Covid-19 tourism recovery. In the first nine months of the year, the city welcomed over 1.6 million international visitors, surpassing the set target of 1.5 million visitors at the beginning of the year.
Several international flights have resumed from Da Nang Airport, contributing to an increased influx of tourists to the city.
